 Film and Aerial Applications

The film camera shown here is one of our NIKON F-3 Aerial cameras. It looks like a NIKON F-3 on steroids with bandages. But really it is a basic F-3 HP with some accessories. The tape keeps the focus set and helps protect the camera. A motor drive and bulk film back allow us to take 300-500 pictures at a time. The camera lens is a 55-24mm zoom. Attached to the lens is a Cokin adaptor used by many professionals allowing them to use large filters on a multitude of lenses.

We often use a Coklin step-up adaptor ring that screws into our lenses and then mount the filters on the rings.. as shown below. They come in standard lens sizes, e.g., 55mm, 62mm, 72mm, etc. Or we use a lens shade that fits our camera lens and simply mount the filter inside or outside the lens hood... sometimes with tape or a small amount of silicon calk on the edge.

Some color films work better than others. Typically we use Fuji Professional slide film because positive film provides much more images information than negative film.

Aerial Photography- Remote Sensing

We are the experts in Aerial Photography and remote sensing.

The PSD lens may not look like anything special, but it is! Millions of research dollars went into the PSD lens/filter. It allows you to see plant stress long before you can see it with the naked eye. On a camera, it can helps provide critical DATA. If the camera is mounted in an aircraft, large areas can be photographed and analyzed. Subsequent flights can document changes.
